Mr. D is doing a neat little project at I Want to Teach Forever called 52 Teachers, 52 Lessons.
Week 5 was provided by yours truly after sitting through a particularly frustrating presentation by a software vendor. Consider submitting something yourself!

I totally agree with your post, Kate. You said so many things I have been feeling lately and have been contemplating writing a post addressing these issues.
It is all about the money. Administrators are being duped into spending money on absolutely useless hardware/software.
The money would be so much more beneficial if it was spent on hiring additional math teachers.
You did great! If you read some of the posts I've done on professional development, you'll see that I've been through many similar experiences and share your thoughts on the many types of software presented to us as the solution to our problems.
I sometimes wonder if I should get into the consulting business, since I would make a lot of money through very little work. I just don't think I'd be able to live with myself.
Mrs. H, right on!
